Sarahan Tour Overview

Shrikhand Mahadev is one of the most sacred and challenging Himalayan pilgrimages in India. Situated at an altitude of approximately 18,570 ft., the trek offers breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks, alpine meadows, glaciers, rugged mountain terrain, and spiritual landmarks associated with Lord Shiva. This high-altitude expedition demands physical fitness, determination, and mental endurance while rewarding trekkers with an unforgettable Himalayan adventure and a divine experience at the holy Shrikhand Mahadev Peak.

Sarahan Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Jaon Village – Trek Briefing & Acclimatization

Upon arrival at Jaon Village, the base camp of the Shrikhand Mahadev Trek, participants will be welcomed by the Himalayanflyer Tour N Trekks team. After check-in to the homestay, trekkers can relax and recover from their journey while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of this traditional Himalayan village. During the evening, a detailed trek briefing session will be conducted by the trek leader covering route information, safety procedures, altitude awareness, environmental guidelines, camping etiquette, and daily schedules. Participants will also undergo a gear check and interact with fellow trekkers and support staff. Dinner and overnight stay at Jaon Homestay.

Day 2

Jaon (6,500 Ft.) – Thachru (11,000 Ft.) | Trek Approx. 12 Km

After an early breakfast, the trek begins from Jaon through dense forests filled with pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. The trail initially passes through Singhad and Barati Nala before ascending steeply towards Thachru. This section is considered one of the most demanding parts of the trek due to continuous elevation gain. Along the way, trekkers can enjoy spectacular views of deep valleys, waterfalls, and surrounding Himalayan ranges. Upon reaching Thachru, camps will be set up amidst vast mountain landscapes offering stunning sunset views. Evening tea and hot dinner will be served at camp. Overnight stay in camps at Thachru.

Day 3

Thachru – Bheemdwar (11,000 Ft. to 14,000 Ft.) | Trek Approx. 11 Km

Following breakfast, the trek continues towards Bheemdwar through high-altitude meadows and rocky mountain terrain. Trekkers will pass through Kali Ghati, Kunsha, and several scenic viewpoints showcasing the grandeur of the Himalayas. The route gradually reveals snow-covered peaks, alpine grasslands, and glacial landscapes. According to local legends, Bheemdwar is associated with Bhima from the Mahabharata and serves as the final major campsite before the summit push. Upon arrival, trekkers can relax and acclimatize while enjoying panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Dinner and overnight stay in camps at Bheemdwar.

Day 4

Bheemdwar – Shrikhand Mahadev Peak – Bheemdwar | Trek Approx. 14 Km

This is the most important and challenging day of the expedition. An early morning start before sunrise allows trekkers to ascend towards the sacred Shrikhand Mahadev Peak. The route passes through Parvati Bagh, Nayan Sarovar, and rugged rocky sections before reaching the holy Shrikhand Mahadev Shivling standing majestically amidst the Himalayan wilderness. Trekkers can spend time at the summit offering prayers and witnessing breathtaking views of the Greater Himalayan ranges. After completing the spiritual visit and photography session, the group will begin the descent back to Bheemdwar. Evening refreshments, dinner, and overnight stay in camps at Bheemdwar.

Day 5

Bheemdwar – Thachru | Trek Approx. 11 Km

After breakfast, the group begins the return journey from Bheemdwar towards Thachru. Descending through alpine meadows and mountain trails offers a different perspective of the spectacular landscapes explored during the ascent. Trekkers can take breaks to enjoy the pristine Himalayan environment, photograph the scenic valleys, and relax amidst nature. The relatively easier descent allows participants to appreciate the beauty of the region while reflecting on the successful summit experience. Upon reaching Thachru, evening snacks and dinner will be served. Overnight stay in camps at Thachru.

Day 6

Thachru – Jaon Village | Trek Approx. 12 Km

After breakfast, begin the final descent from Thachru towards Jaon Village through dense forests, mountain trails, and scenic Himalayan landscapes. Enjoy the last day of trekking while reliving the memories of the successful Shrikhand Mahadev summit. Upon reaching Jaon by afternoon, participants can freshen up, relax, and celebrate the completion of one of the most challenging and sacred treks in the Indian Himalayas. Certificates and group photographs may be arranged before concluding the expedition. Dinner and overnight stay at Jaon Homestay.

Day 7

Departure from Jaon AT OWN

After breakfast, check out from the homestay and depart for your onward journey. With blessings from Shrikhand Mahadev and unforgettable memories of the Himalayas, the expedition concludes. Participants return home carrying the experience of conquering one of India's most revered high-altitude pilgrimages and the friendships forged during the trek.
